Dear Cars24 Management,
This is an urgent and serious legal escalation regarding vehicle DL*****80, which I sold and handed over to Cars24 on 7 August 2023.
Despite the sale, I am still receiving challans in my name, and the matter has now escalated to a bailable warrant from the Court. This is completely unacceptable and is causing me serious legal harassment and risk for a vehicle that has not been in my possession since 7 August 2023.
I demand that Cars24 immediately intervene with the concerned RTO/Police/Court authorities, resolve the challans and ensure that I am not held responsible for any violations committed after the vehicle was handed over to Cars24.
Please have your legal team contact me immediately and provide written confirmation of the action being taken.
If this is not resolved without further delay, I will be compelled to approach the Police Department, RTO and other appropriate legal authorities through my advocate and initiate strict legal proceedings against the responsible parties.
Treat this as an immediate legal escalation. I expect action, not another generic customer-care response.

Why do challans still come to the seller after a car is sold?
Traffic challans are issued to the person recorded as the registered owner. Until the transfer of ownership is recorded with the RTO, the seller stays on record, whoever is driving the car. Sellers can check the current owner and any pending challans for a registration number on the Parivahan portal.
What should you keep when selling a car to a dealer or platform?
Keep the signed delivery or handover document, the sale agreement and the buyer's acknowledgement, along with copies of Forms 29 and 30 and the RTO acknowledgement of the transfer application. If the transfer is not recorded, those documents are what show the date the vehicle left your possession.
