FabIndia not processing refund even after 7 days
The ask
Refunds must be automated and triggered the moment quality check is cleared .
Customers need proactive status updates at every stage — pickup, QC clearance, refund initiation, and credit. The burden of follow-up should never fall on the consumer.
Customer care representatives must have real-time refund tracking access. Every call I made yielded vague timelines simply because agents lacked system visibility — a basic CRM fix.
What happened
I am writing this to formally document and publicly record my deeply frustrating experience with FabIndia's customer service and refund process.
🧾 WHAT HAPPENED:
I placed an order for a shirt on FabIndia. Upon delivery, I found the size to be larger than needed and immediately initiated a return request for a smaller size. The item was picked up the very next day after delivery — in perfect condition, as received.
FabIndia's customer care confirmed:
✅ Receipt of the returned item
✅ Successful quality check of the returned product
✅ Assured me of an immediate refund
❌ THE PROBLEM:
Despite these confirmations, no refund was processed even after a full week. I repeatedly contacted FabIndia — both via email and telephone — only to receive vague reassurances that my refund would be processed "within a week." Each interaction yielded nothing but empty promises.
After multiple follow-up calls and emails over 10 days, the refund was finally processed — but only after significant effort and persistent follow-up on my part.
😔 THE IMPACT:
This prolonged, unnecessary ordeal caused me considerable mental agony and distress. As a consumer, I fulfilled every obligation promptly — returning the item the very next day. FabIndia, however, failed to honour its commitment in a timely manner, forcing me to repeatedly chase what was rightfully mine.
📌 WHY I AM POSTING THIS:
I am documenting this publicly so that:
1. Other consumers are aware of FabIndia's refund practices
2. FabIndia is held accountable for its customer service failures
3. This serves as a formal record of the deficiency in service, which I reserve the right to escalate to the appropriate Consumer Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019
A brand of FabIndia's standing must do better. Prompt refunds are not a favour — they are a consumer right.
