What we collect

When you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this only to display your signature and identify you to the platform.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't post on your behalf. We don't share signature lists with third parties beyond aggregate counts shown publicly on petition pages.

What's public

To protect your privacy, we display your name in an abbreviated form on petition pages — for example, "Vishal Chandran" appears as "Vishal C." on signers lists, petition authorship, and live activity. Your email is never shown publicly. Your profile picture and any optional note you add when signing are public.

Solution Messages

Petition viewers can send a private message to a petitioner to offer a solution. Here's how the data is handled:

• Review: the first message of every conversation is reviewed by the PetitionFox team before delivery. We do this best-effort to filter spam, threats, and bad-faith messages — review is not an endorsement of the message contents.
• Identity shown: the petitioner sees the sender's abbreviated name, profile picture, and a verification badge ("Verified employee at <Company>" if the sender has signed up with a work email at the targeted company; otherwise a generic "Google sign-in" tag).
• Conversation cap: each conversation is limited to 20 messages total. After that, the thread closes automatically.
• Replies: once approved, both parties can reply freely. Replies are not individually reviewed.
• Storage: messages are stored on PetitionFox servers and are retained for the lifetime of your account, or until you request deletion.
• What we don't do: we don't share your messages with the targeted company, advertisers, or third parties. Messages stay between you, the other participant, and (for the first message only) the PetitionFox review team.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies — these keep you signed in and protect your account from cross-site request forgery. We don't use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics that profile you across other websites. By using PetitionFox you accept these essential cookies; without them sign-in and signing wouldn't work.

Data deletion

To remove your account, signatures, and messages, email us via startupfox.in.
