Voltas AC service charged multiple times, but the issue remains unresolved
The ask
Voltas should investigate this service case, explain the earlier ₹2800 charge, refund the amount if the service was not properly delivered, and fix the AC at no extra cost.
A grandmother bought a Voltas AC on installments by paying ₹2000. In 2025, the AC suddenly stopped cooling. When she complained to customer care, a mechanic visited and said the gas had finished. He first mentioned a company charge of ₹3300, but later suggested she say another mechanic had quoted ₹2800. Another technician came later and again asked for ₹3300, but finally took ₹2800 after she insisted. Even after paying, the AC still did not work properly. When she asked to see the meter and proof that the gas had actually been filled, he made excuses and said the meter was faulty. She kept following up for three months, but no proper help came. After three months, another technician arrived and again said the gas had leaked out and more money would be required. No one explained what happened to the earlier ₹2800 payment. When she contacted the shopkeeper, he said the repair would now cost around ₹5000, including ₹3800 for gas and extra service charges. She again complained to Voltas about the earlier payment and the repeated charges, but even today no proper resolution has been given. This is unfair to a customer who paid with hard-earned money.
