About this debateThe brief, sources and what people search
India's two biggest online sales open back to back next week, in the run-up to Diwali (8 November). Both promise their lowest prices of the year on phones, laptops, TVs, appliances and fashion.

- Bank offers: 10% instant discount with SBI credit and debit cards, including on credit card EMI.

Before you pick a side, check:
- Your card. Flipkart's headline bank offers are on Axis and ICICI cards; Amazon's are on SBI. Bank discounts usually carry a cap and a minimum order value.
- The real price, not the MRP. Compare the same model on both apps and look at its recent price history rather than the "% off" badge.
- Exchange value, delivery date and return window for big-ticket items.

How debates work
- Pick a side. One tap, and you can switch until it closes. Only the totals are public: your side shows only next to what you post.
- Make your case. Your argument counts for your side. To answer someone’s argument, reply under it.
- Respect++ the strongest arguments, on either side, even the one you didn’t pick: +5 rep for the writer. A reply under an argument gets a quick ++.
- Changed my mind — an argument for the other side convinced you? Tap it there: you switch sides, and its writer gets +10 rep.
- The verdict. When time’s up, the side more people picked wins (under 5 picks, there’s no result). The argument with the most Respect++ on each side is crowned the best: +15 rep.
